Best hotel rewards promotions for 2018

It seems all the hotel chains are in a mad rush to secure our business in early 2018. In a similar vein to IHG’s offer, a number of other hotel brands have announced their New Year incentives. Here is our round up of some of the best hotel rewards to give your hotel points balances a boost in 2018.

Hilton promotion

This promotion allows you to earn a 2,000 bonus for every stay between 1st January and 30th April. In addition, for every five stays, you get 10,000 extra points. There is no limit however on how many you can earn.

Let’s say you manage five stays, you will earn 20,000 points in addition to your normal earnings from your stay.

What you need to do

You need to be an Hilton Honors member to benefit but it is free to register and you then benefit from free wi-fi (don’t most places offer that anyway?), digital check in, points towards free nights and a guaranteed discount. HIlton Honors members also enjoy a range of other benefits once they achieve Silver and Gold status.

Marriott Megabonus

With this Megabonus offer, you can earn up to 3,000 points per stay, starting with your second stay. Weekday stays bag you 2,000 points whilst weekends get a 50% uplift netting you 3,000 points. There is a maximum points bonus of 50,000 so for most mere mortals, this will likely be sufficient.

What you need to do

You must register by the 31st March 2018 and stays at participating hotels qualify between 16th January and 15th April. As with Hilton, you must be a Marriott Rewards member.

SPG Great Weeks, Grand Weekends

I have fallen in love with Starwood in the last year, having stayed at a number of their very cool properties, such as the Aloft in Liverpool and Nest Hotel in Incheon, South Korea. Sadly, they don’t have huge numbers of hotels in the UK, but the ones they do have are top quality.

Their offer is naturally similiar to that of Marriott given that two have now become one. They are offering double Starpoints for every stay from your second stay and 500 bonus Starpoints for a weekend stay.

What you need to do

Again, you need to register by the 31st March 2018 and stay between 16th January and 15th April. You must be a Starwood Preferred Guest member and staying at a participating hotel. If you want to further boost your Starpoints, the AMEX SPG Card is a great addition to your credit card arsenal.
