How Shopping, Sleeping And Wine Can Top Up Your Avios

Calling all shopaholics

For those who love to shop, make life easy this weekend and shop from the comfort of your own sofa. you can collect Double Avios on all your online shopping via the Avios eStore between 2 March and 5 March 2017. There are almost 1,000 brands to choose from and you can earn as many as 20 Avios per pound spent. That’s one way to make your shopping more rewarding.

Before purchasing, be sure to check that you really are getting the best deal as Top Cashback can be even better value.

Calling all Wine lovers

If you like a tipple, then you may like to taste this fruity offer. Linthwaites is launching the Wine Explorer and to celebrate is offering a chance to win two return tickets to Santiago, Chile. Just take your pick from one of three specially selected cases from this exclusive wine club and you will be automatically entered into the prize draw to win.

Your first order will bag you 1,000 Avios and each case thereafter will land you an additional 250. No subscription is necessary so forget the endless parties and just order as needed. No need to become an alcoholic in the interests of boosting your AVIOS balance.

Agoda

You can now also earn AVIOS (or miles for a huge number of other airline rewards clubs) by booking your hotels through Agoda. Obviously you will sacrifice any free nights you might earn through Hotels.com or tier points in a hotel rewards program, but it may prove quite lucrative.

earn AVIOS from hotels

Take this hotel in Berlin for instance, for only £66 a night, you can earn up to 3,100 AVIOS. Now that is a pretty awesome earnings rate. That is definitely celebration worthy!

  1. I’ve only used Agoda so far. Definitely need to check out Avios 😀

    • Yes do. I’m flying first class to Beijing next year, all earned from credit cards and shopping rather than flights. Any queries, give me a shout

  2. I hope they have some of these for India too. Especially Agodas. Does seem like a decent deal to consider

  3. Avios looks like quite a deal! How wonderful it is to get credits on every pound spent on shopping! This can make you addicted to shopping though! Need to check if this can be used across international destinations.

  4. Boo it looks like I just missed the deadline, I will keep an eye open for other offers though. Hopefully there will be more like this that come up soon. I love it when you get money back for doing something you love – shopping! 😀

  5. I know a lot of shopaholics that would love this! I’m not big on shopping much anymore, preferring experiences to things, but this is a great option for. I do book accommodation, so perhaps I should look into it a bit more! Cheers!

    • I’m the same with shopping v experiences. My shopping involves books, necessities and travel. Not much else but hotels and flights I can do!

  6. I’ve never heard of Avios. But, anything that lets me earn points/discounts…sign me up! Agoda is one of my favorite booking sites, so it would definitely be worth it, I think.

  7. We really need to start reading more about these things. Really gotta step up our points game and all that!

  8. I’ll admit that before reading your post I had never heard of Avios. It looks very cool and like there are tons of ways to save and earn. And since The Wine Explorer sounds like something 100% in line with my wants at this exact moment, this could really work out. Thanks for sharing!

  9. I’m always surprised when people use debit instead of credit, since credit cards come with so many perks! I usually just buy whatever I would normally and turn my points into cash back, rather than worrying about the strategy.

    • Same here. I get that people are nervous about getting into debt but it is only debt if you don’t pay it off each month which I do.

  10. You’re always the expert in miles collecting and similar offers. And I am still such a beginner. I’m going to study your post much better and hopefully one day understand how the system works.

  11. I haven’t heard of Avios! I’ll have to check it out. I know Agoda because I live in Asia and it’s one of best sites to get deals over here. Where is Avios mainly used?
